Fuel surcharge information (November 16, 2011 through December 15, 2011)
Air China Cargo introduced a fuel surcharge starting on November 16, 2002 to respond to aviation fuel price hikes and due to economic circumstances, we have shared these extra costs with customers. We make monthly revisions of the fuel surcharge in order to promptly reflect changing aviation fuel prices and to set a more appropriate fuel surcharge.
While the average fuel price in September is USD 123.50/barrel, which falls under Standard 14, we have decided to apply Standard 12 (USD110.00 or more and less than USD115.00) for fuel surcharge to be applied to Air Way Bills issued from November 16 to December 15.
We would appreciate your understanding and cooperation to continue accepting a part of the fuel prices as follows.
Note:
- Fuel surcharge for cargo departing from Japan:
Air Way Bill (AWB) issued on and after November 16, 2011 through December 15, 2011
| For China and TC3 |
For TC1 - TC2 |
| ¥84/kg |

Fuel surcharge for Standard 12 (USD 110.00 or more
and less than USD 115.00) will be applied during the period while the fuel index price falls under Standard 14 (USD 120.00 or more
and less than USD 125.00).
Amount of the fuel surcharge for cargoes from China to Japan is CNY6.5/kg (no change).
- Fuel surcharge will be applied to the weight to which the cargo charge is applied.
- Fuel surcharge will not be applied to cargo to which the minimum fee is applied.
- Please fill in the fuel surcharge with the [MYC] code in the [Total Other Charges Due Carrier] section on the AWB.
- Fuel surcharge can be paid in advance or on delivery as long as the freight charge is paid with the same payment method.
- To calculate the fuel index price, the monthly average of the Singapore Kerosene-Type Jet Fuel Spot two months prior to the revision will be used.
- Revisions (reviews) will be made 12 times a year, and the revised price will be applied to the AWB issued from the 16th of the month to the 15th of the next month.
- If the fuel index price goes below the standard prices in the table below, we will apply for the decrease or elimination of fuel surcharge to the government.
